Pending Local Rules

To give an opportunity to bar members for comment on new or amended local rules before they take effect, Local Rule 100.2 provides that local rule changes will become effective 60 days after passage, unless enacted with an emergency clause, and that the changes will be published to the bar by posting on this website.

At the August 9 Court en Banc meeting, the 13th Circuit approved an update to Local Court Rule 68.10. The update removed the last paragraph 68.10(B):

In all cases an original and two (2) copies of the judgment shall be submitted to the court, plus one (1) copy if child support is to be paid through the clerk of the court, plus one (1) copy for each county in which there is real estate, title to which is transferred by the judgment of the court.

And change it to: “In all cases an original judgment shall be submitted to the court.” The Rule will be in effect in 60 days from August 9 with time for the Bar to comment.
