An automated phone-answering system was implemented on the
Circuit Clerk's main number, 886-4000, in April 2008.
People calling 886-4000 will hear a voice menu and can be
transferred to the division they want by pressing the appropriate number. The
selections are:
 | 1 - Criminal cases |
| 2 - Family Law cases |
| 3 - Small Claims cases |
| 4 - Associate Civil cases |
| 5 - Circuit Civil Cases |
| 6 - Minor traffic tickets, garnishments, court costs
for civil and criminal cases |
| 7 - Probate cases |
Two of the selections lead to further selections:
| Under option 2 for Family Law cases, callers can
then select from the following options:
 | 1 - Divorce, paternity and name changes |
| 2 - Child support |
| 3 - Orders of Protection |
| 4 - Juvenile |
| 5 - Adoption |
|
| Under option 6, additional selections are:
| 1 - Traffic tickets |
| 2 - Garnishments |
| 3 - Court costs for civil cases |
| 4 - Court costs for criminal cases |
|
Callers can have the menu options repeated
by pressing the star key. They can request further assistance by
pressing "0." If a caller makes no response or presses an
invalid key, the call will be forwarded to 886-4003, which is
the direct line for phone reception/general information.
The voice menu system is active only on
886-4000. Callers can continue to direct-dial particular
divisions and personnel in the clerk's office.
