6. Assignment of Judges, Cases
and Transfer of Cases
There shall be a centralized assignment procedure for all
cases filed in the circuit. The presiding judge of the circuit shall have
the authority to assign judges to hear such cases or classes of cases as the
presiding judge may determine, and to assign judges to dockets, except as
otherwise provided by law. However upon the filing of a circuit civil case,
the same shall be assigned evenly and randomly among the circuit court
judges, unless otherwise directed by the presiding judge. Any case or class
of case filed prior to the effective date of this rule and not heretofore
assigned, shall be assigned by the presiding judge evenly and randomly.
